Happy Thanksgiving!

A Christmas start..

I started Love in a Manger while I was in Myrtle Beach at the PALS Fall Fling two weeks ago. I am loving the piece, but sadly put it aside for a large Christmas present I am stitching for my daughter (I already stitched it for her sister, but you know how that goes... gotta have it for both!!)I am hoping to finish that large piece this weekend and dive into my Christmas stitching, beginning with this cutie-patootie!!

Looking forward to seeing more projects here!

Hugs & Blessings to you!

EEK

EEK and Double EEK!
This project was to be finished as  pin so that I could wear it in 2011. I finished the stitching in plenty of time but it got buried and is not finished yet!

EEK!

Thanks Jenny for reminding me of this gem.

Pumpkin Flowers

Since Jenny has started this blog and kindly invited me to be member I went in search of my Brightneedle Design charts, patterns, kits etc.. It took me awhile to round them up. Hmmm still think I'm missing a few. Anyway I decided that this weekend was as good a time as ever to start stitching.

My first project was Pumpkin Flowers, a needlebook.

Didn't get the finishing done, but this not to bad for a weekend when I had to work. Hope to be able to show the finished needlebook soon.

Hi

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for the invite. I had hope to have a decent post, but not sooo much! I have a new start but didn't get enough done to warrant a picture. I hope to have something soon.

Shamelessly presenting the Button Satchel

Shamelessly because it is pretty copied straight from a recent post on my One Stitch Closer to Nirvana blog... Here it is:

We do now have two more contributors (and one in process) and 8 followers at the Brightneedle Blog, so that is really cool - we are officially up and running now!
This is my my contribution to this blog; Brightneedle's Button Satchel:
Let me assure you, my hands are not of an abnormally large size, this pouch is just very, very small. The kit came without a photo or dimensions on the front cover, so as usual, I had no clue what I was buying... LOL
As you can imagine, I was a bit surprised (= long nose) when I opened up the package to find a piece of linen that was smaller than my hand to work with! Oh well, at least it meant that it was a quick stitch... A very small project for quite a bit of money, so I would probably not recommend this kit, if that is all right to say out loud - even though I do admit that it is very cute!!! Anyway, how much stuff can I really store in this pouch? Not even a lip-gloss... :-o
If you do decide to invest in the kit, be aware of the fact that the size of the linen cut is pretty much exactly as large as it needs to be, so take care when placing your stitch area. It has to be placed pretty much in the exact position that was intended for it, or you won't have any extra linen to work with in the assembly step.

Thanks for coming by and Happy Stitching,

My Brightneedle Stash

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought! I only have 5 charts: Libby Q, Elizabethan Garden Sampler, Quiet Night Sampler, Garden Party and Love in a Manger Sampler. They are all so cute, but thinking ahead I see doing Love in a Manger for Christmas--possibly as they show it, made into an abbreviated ornament. I bought fabric for this one--twice!! It's a sign!!

Sad, But Oh So True...

This is my only other Brightneedle finish - you can clearly tell why I need more people to contribute to this blog now, right!?

The start of this blog got me to get all my ducks in one row and I finally framed this sweet design, Spring Flowers. If I recall correctly, this design was initially a freebie, but I bought it as a tiny kit at my LNS.

The frame was a gift from Jill Rensel Studio. I was in Utah with some friends for the Shepherd's Bush retreat in 2010 and we decided to go and visit Jill too. She is the sweetest person and they spoiled us rotten! If you are ever in the area, do step in for a visit - she is truly an artist!
Anyway, as a promotion, we all got a small frame each on the condition that we sent her a photo showing what we did with it. Now I can finally send her my photo...

To fill out the sides and thus make the finish look more fitted in the frame, I added some rickrack on the sides. I love the colors of this rickrack and the best part is that I found it at Hancock's fabrics, so I didn't have to search the net and pay for shipping - yay!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!

First Blog Post

Hi Everyone (right now, "everyone" is only me, LOL...) - I am so excited about this blog! I am a big fan of Brightneedle and was really sad to see them close up the chart release part of their business.
I have been trying to collect all my favorites and I am truly planning to stitch them all, even though I may need a couple of decades or so.

Anyway, in this first post I wanted to share a sweet sampler that I stitched for my DH in 2010. No special reason, except that I like the verse, the birds are adorable and the colors are really pretty. I got this chart on Ebay for cheap, by the way - there is hope! :-)

Without further ado, this is Our Souls Entwine:

Thanks for looking & Happy Stitching!
